Heritage Fun Zone

Join in some outdoor heritage games and activities from the 1800s—when most toys were made of wooden or metal—including skittles, quoits, beanbag toss, skipping, hoops, wooden spinning tops, noughts and crosses, string games, connect 4, and more! Bring the whole family along to have fun and enjoy some leisure time in this heritage space.

This event will be cancelled if wet. This event is part of the Christchurch Heritage Festival (16–26 October 2026). Thank you to the Bishopdale Menzshed for creating and building some of these wooden heritage games, and to the Friends of the Arts Centre for helping host this event.
