Light Needs

Light Needs is an experimental documentary examining the surprisingly complex and intimate relationships that develop between people and the houseplants they cohabitate with. Compiled from footage collected across domestic and professional spaces over several years, the film considers the benefits and losses accrued through social contracts between human and nonhuman, attending directly to questions of care and responsibility towards other living beings.

A screening of Sophie Koko's animation short Peace Tree (2026) will precede the feature film.
